Revitalizing HPA-OHT Workforce Through Innovative Summer Program

The Discovery Healthcare summer camp, led by the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University, presents a unique pathway for high school students interested in healthcare careers.

In alignment with the HPA-OHT strategic priorities focused on revitalizing the HPA-OHT workforce, we encourage organizations to share this opportunity that underscores our commitment to nurturing the future of healthcare professionals in our region.

Discovery Healthcare fosters an early interest in healthcare professions among youth, offering them a comprehensive learning experience through workshops, lectures, and real-world exposure. By engaging with local youth, we contribute to their personal and professional growth and invest in our communities’ long-term health and well-being.

Dr. Victor Ng, Assistant Dean of Distributed Education, encapsulates the spirit of the camp: “Through a dynamic blend of interactive workshops, expert lectures and fun, Discovery Healthcare Camp not only strives to ignite a passion for health and medical sciences but also cultivates a spirit of curiosity and leadership among participants.” This initiative is not just a summer program; in other words, it’s a stepping stone toward building a resilient, knowledgeable, and passionate future healthcare workforce.
