The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance (LWHA) brings together Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital, providing an integrated approach to care since 2003. Guided by the vision of “Enriching Life’s Journey, Together,” LWHA is a values-driven partnership committed to quality and compassionate care across the region.
Strategic Focus Areas
LWHA’s work centres on four key strategic areas to support community wellbeing and system resilience:
- Quality Care: LWHA prioritises timely, equitable, and safe care with accessible services for older adults, individuals without a primary care provider, and those needing cancer screening or mental health support. The team is working to integrate system-level initiatives like the Wait Time Information System and enhance surgical service offerings at both hospitals.
- Empowering the Workforce: LWHA fosters a supportive workplace culture with opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and retention strategies focused on a healthy work environment. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central, ensuring every professional reaches their potential.
- Sustainable Future: LWHA is committed to long-term resilience, planning for community growth and enhancing facility infrastructure. Efforts include exploring service delivery partnerships, developing patient-friendly systems like online booking, and linking hospital information systems to improve care continuity.
- Building Partnerships for Seamless Care: LWHA actively collaborates with local Family Health Teams, emergency services, long-term care, and regional providers to ensure individuals have seamless access to needed health resources and support.
