About BHEC The Black Health Education Collaborative (BHEC) is a collective of Black scholars and practitioners dedicated to transforming medical and health professional education to improve the health of Black communities across Canada. Our Mission BHEC works to eliminate anti-Black racism in healthcare by addressing the systemic barriers that impact the well-being of Black individuals. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to provide equitable, culturally affirming care. Our Approach Grounded in Black scholarship, critical race theory, and anti-colonial traditions, BHEC integrates academic expertise with lived experiences to drive meaningful change.
