The Provincial Common Orientation presents a structured, tiered learning approach designed for health and social care professionals focused on caring for older adults with frailty. This program facilitates progressive professional development through a comprehensive learning journey. It aims to foster a holistic geriatric care perspective, addressing the intricate blend of physical, cognitive, social, and mental health needs common in older adults.
Participants new to geriatrics commence with Tier 1: Foundations in Geriatrics for Interprofessional Teams, establishing vital baseline knowledge suitable for multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The learning trajectory then advances to Tier 2: Enhanced Knowledge and Skill Development in the Care of Older Adults, where learners deepen their understanding and skills through more intensive learning modules. The program features an eleven-week facilitated series, with detailed information available in the Program Outline.
